Galleri Charlotte Lund has the pleasure of presenting our first solo exhibition with new works by Jenny Granlund.
Jenny Granlund’s large graphite pencil drawings depict pattern covered landscapes in which a graffiti aesthetic interplays with graphic designs. Layer upon layer of drawings seem to be at times maneuvering each other for a place in the surface, and at other times sharing it without objection.
Distinguishing for Granlund are the expressive Swedish titles of her works. The pieces are named early in the process in order to enhance their character.
Jenny Granlund, born 1972 in Trollhättan, Sweden, attended the The Royal University College of Fine Arts in Stokholm. The artist has exhibited at Botkyrka konsthall, Sveriges Allmänna Konstförening and The House of Artists in Stockholm. Granlund is represented in the colletions of Uppsala konstmuseum and the Swedish National Public Art Council. In 2007 Jenny Granlund received the Swedish Arts Grants Committee’s one year working grant.
Press photos are available on request.
Please join us at the opening reception, Saturday, October 18, 2008 from 2pm to 6pm.
